Islington Health and History walk: Elthorne Park N19

In partnership with Islington Council, join Islington Guide Oonagh Gay to take a stroll around Elthorne Park, off Hornsey Rise N19. Created as part of a slum clearance project in the 1960s, the park has a beautiful Japanese style peace garden and many attractive trees, as well as sports grounds and a new cafe. Come and see the ducklings swimming in the pond! The area around the park once had a large workhouse for the poor of Islington and a historic orphanage. Learn about their fascinating history as well as visiting nearby Hillside Park
