The rising stars of the Isidore String Quartet join MacArthur Fellow Jeremy Denk for an evening of fearless musicianship, magnetic chemistry and chamber music at its most compelling.———————
The Isidore String Quartet has been praised for a sound that is refined, flexible and intensely communicative.
The New York City–based ensemble, winner of the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2022 and recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2023, is committed to rediscovering and reinvigorating the string quartet repertoire.
Formed at the Juilliard School in 2019 and coached by members of the Juilliard String Quartet, the Isidore String Quartet carries forward Juilliard’s tradition of “approaching the established as if it were brand new, and the new as if it were firmly established.”

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth, Nonesuch Records released a collection of Denk’s Ives recordings in 2024. His 2021 album of Mozart piano concertos was hailed by BBC Radio 3 as “urgent and essential.”
