11 weeks in Isaiah, a book that shows up everywhere — quoted by Jesus, echoed in Handel's Messiah, read every Advent — and most never read through the whole thing. Starting September 9, DreamHouse Church is doing exactly that: a Wednesday night study through Isaiah, using John Goldingay's Isaiah for Everyone as our guide. Class led by Scott Crowder.Isaiah writes into a real collapse of a people — invasion, exile, injustice — and God keeps promising something nobody could believe: "the desert shall rejoice and blossom" (Isaiah 35:1). We're spending eleven weeks finding out what that promise costs, and what it means for us.
All are welcome, whether you've never opened a Bible or you've read it a hundred times.
