About this Event
Three thousand years ago, a king inscribed his victories in stone—scholars are only now understanding his power. Hartapu ruled in the eighth century BCE in what is now central Türkiye. He was a little-known ruler until in 2019, when inscribed stone pulled from an introduced the world to a king who claimed to have conquered Phrygia. Curated by ISAC and MES Associate Professor of Anatolian Archaeology, James Osborne, this exhibition tells his story through ancient inscriptions, archaeological finds, and new technologies, including 3D printing and advanced imaging.
