About this Event
Are you interested in deepening your knowledge and practice of Intentional Peer Support in a mangerial or supervisory role?
Managers training
Intentional Peer Support is a way of thinking about and inviting transformative relationships. Practitioners learn to use relationships to see things from new angles, develop greater awareness of personal and relational patterns, and support and challenge each other in trying new things.
For nearly twenty years, IPS has been inspiring and training people in community, peer support, and human services settings all over the world to be intentional about the way they connect and build mutual relationships. In this first online IPS Managers/Supervisors' training, participants will learn the tasks and principles of IPS in a highly interactive environment. IPS is all about new ways of seeing, thinking, and doing, and here we examine how to make this possible. This training also is intended to support leaders and managers interested in implementing the peer support framework in their organisation or community. This training is of particular value to line managers of peer workers, particularly in teams implementing Intentional Peer Support.
What to expect in the 4 highly interactive and practice-based sessions of this online course:
- History of the Consumer/ Survivor/ Ex-Patient/ Mad Movements and the History of Intentional Peer Support
- An overview of the IPS framework - the 3 principles and 4 tasks
- What makes IPS unique
