Woven together from Euripides's two powerful plays, Iphigenia at Aulis and Iphigenia in Tauris, this production of Iphigenia tells the full story of one of Greek mythology's most tragic heroines.
As King Agamemnon prepares to lead 1,000 ships to war against Troy, the gods demand an unthinkable price: the sacrifice of his daughter, Iphigenia. Caught between his duty as a king and his love as a father, Agamemnon's choice sets off a chain of events that will forever alter his family's fate. Experience a powerful tale of loyalty, betrayal, and the devastating cost of war.
Performances will be outdoors in Nathan Tufts Park (aka Powderhouse Park) in Somerville. Bring a chair, blanket, or even a picnic!
In case of rain, performances will be moved just down the street to Unity Somerville, 6 William St., Somerville.
