Formed in August 2019, Ion Maiden’s original line-up was built around core members who had previously performed with some of the UK’s finest Iron Maiden tribute bands. In early 2022, the band were honoured to be invited to reopen the legendary Cart & Horses (East Stratford, London) the birthplace of Iron Maiden — following its extensive refurbishment. The occasion featured support from Airforce, whose drummer is none other than Doug Sampson, former Iron Maiden drummer and a featured performer on the original Soundhouse Tapes.
Since then, Ion Maiden have gone from strength to strength. With their current line-up, the band have built a reputation for delivering one of the most authentic Iron Maiden tribute shows you’ll experience anywhere, taking their high-energy performance to some of the UK’s most iconic venues and tribute festivals.
Every show is a full-throttle Maiden experience, and highlights include performing at the Iron Maiden aftershow party in Manchester in June 2023, as well as multiple sold-out-in-advance appearances at the Cart & Horses, to name just a few.
It’s been said that the only thing more Maiden than Ion Maiden is Iron Maiden themselves.
2026 was another fantastic year for the band, with packed venues, major tribute festivals and audiences across the country experiencing the full Ion Maiden treatment.
Now, Ion Maiden are steaming ahead into 2027 with a set packed with Iron Maiden classics — plus a few surprises thrown in for good measure.
No prisoners. No mercy. Just 100% genuine passion for what they do — delivering a full-throttle tribute to the mighty Iron Maiden.
