Schedule

4PM — Short Films
Sikoqqinngisaannassooq
2025 15:12 — Adam Sébire

A small Inuit community in Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland) faces climate change’s transformation of their sea ice. Iceberg-projected interviews are punctuated with Kalaallisut words describing their disappearing winter environment. Inscribed in the ice by the island’s youth, they reflect dramatic environmental changes originating a world away. Are we witnessing the beginning of sikoqqinngisaannassooq: a future without sea ice?
Mangittatuarjuk: The Gnawer of Rocks20 minutes — Louise Flaherty

Two girls out for a walk follow a trail of coloured stones left on the ground, which leads them to danger. They are trapped in the lair of the Mangittatuarjuk, the Gnawer of Rocks.

Piluk2026 10:34 — Elisapie Isaac & Marc Séguin

Born from a single feather, young Piluk walks on, just as her mother did before her. Throughout her journey, she offers feathers from her thinning wings to passersby and wounded animals. From the raw landscapes of the tundra to a city of concrete, will she still be able to hear the breath of the wind that witnessed her birth?

5PM — Feature Film
Nirilaurta: Let Us Eat

2026 52:09 — Marie-Hélène Cousineau & Malaya Qaunirq Chapman

On the edge of the Arctic Ocean, the community of Taloyoak, Nunavut, is working to feed its families. Soaring grocery prices and the high cost of hunting and travel in the North leave many households facing food insecurity. This is a story of a community that draws on Inuit culture, land-based knowledge and kinship to nourish their bodies, spirits and one another.

6PM — Performance with Piqsiq (Aboriginal Gathering Place, RM2290)
With a style perpetually galvanized by darkness and haunting northern beauty, sisters Tiffany Ayalik and Inuksuk Mackay come together to create Inuit style throat singing duo, PIQSIQ. Performing ancient traditional songs and eerie new compositions, they leave their listeners enthralled with their ability to weave complex emotional landscapes that transcend language.
