TheatreFor is hosting a FREE introductory Stage Management class focused on small scale theatres (approx 2-3 hours). Whether you're a performer curious about what happens backstage, a crew member ready to level up, or someone who's never set foot in a theatre before, this class is your starting point. What you'll learn:
- What a stage manager actually does — the bridge between director, cast, and crew
- Pre-production essentials: auditions, prep week, and paperwork
- Building your Show Bible and prompt book
- Running rehearsals, tracking blocking, and writing rehearsal reports
- Calling tech rehearsals and handling mid-show surprises
- Show night: cast check-ins, pre-sets, and the countdown to places
No experience necessary — just curiosity and a love of theatre. And for those who catch the stage management bug, an advanced class is in the works covering show bibles, large vs. small scale theatre differences, and certification.
Spots are limited, reach out to [email protected] to reserve your place.
