About this Event
In this hands-on workshop, students will learn how to safely operate a wood lathe while creating a one-of-a-kind wooden Christmas tree to take home.
Using a variety of turning tools, including both steel and carbide tools, students will practice core spindle-turning techniques and learn how to use centers and drivers, mandrels, and chucks. Along the way, you’ll gain an introduction to shaping, detailing, and finishing your piece while building confidence on the lathe.
By the end of class, students will have completed a full lathe safety check, developed foundational woodturning skills, and worked on their own turned wooden Christmas tree.
