About this Event
Mir Naqibul Islam, Brooklyn Public Library Heritage Artist 2024, is a tabla virtuoso from Bangladesh, based in New York who performs actively, fusing tabla drumming with different genres like jazz, flamenco, and Arabic music. Having trained over a thousand students, he is committed to nurturing the next generation of tabla talent. Mir leads his trio and participates in various cross-genre projects.
Join us for a 90-minute workshop exploring the basics of South Asian rhythm through the captivating art of tabla.
