Rosemaling is a cherished Scandinavian folk art that reflects a rich cultural history. This art is often seen across the Midwest at museums and heritage festivals, and on at least one pot-holder or fridge magnet in your grandma’s or a friend’s great-aunt’s house, inspiring a sense of community and tradition.Join local artist Molly McLain for an introductory class on Rosemaling, a traditional Norwegian folk art! In this hands-on session, you'll learn some of the history and basic brush strokes of this decorative art form. You'll bide your time practicing a traditional design with acrylic paint on tracing paper and will come away with your own small Rosemaled wooden plaque.
No prior experience is necessary: bring your enthusiasm, creativity, and flow state to this time-honored creative method!
