Fancy trying something new? Join us at the Mustard & Gray studio for a relaxed and creative introduction to linocut printmaking.
This three-hour workshop is perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills. You'll learn the basics of designing, carving and printing your own linocut artwork, with plenty of guidance and encouragement along the way.
We'll start by exploring the tools and materials, looking at how to turn a simple drawing or idea into a design suitable for linocut. You'll then learn how to safely use the carving tools, transfer your design onto your lino block and carve your image.
Once your block is ready, it's time to get inky! You'll learn how to apply printing ink and produce your own prints, experimenting with different papers and techniques to achieve beautiful results.
By the end of the evening, you'll have your own hand-carved lino block and a collection of original prints to take home, along with the confidence to continue exploring printmaking.
Our workshops are friendly, informal and taught in small groups, so there's plenty of time for individual guidance. Whether you're coming along on your own or bringing a friend, you'll be made very welcome.

What's included?
All materials, equipment and tuition are included in the workshop price. You'll have access to our linocut tools, printing inks, paper and printing equipment, so there's no need to bring anything with you.
We'll also provide plenty of tea, coffee and cake to keep you going throughout the evening!
If you have a particular design or idea in mind, feel free to bring along a sketch or photograph for inspiration. Alternatively, we'll have plenty of ideas to help you get started.

This workshop is designed for complete beginners, so absolutely no previous drawing, carving or printmaking experience is necessary.
It's a lovely opportunity to enjoy a few hours of creativity, learn a new skill and discover the wonderfully satisfying process of making your own prints.
