Introduction to Japanese Calligraphy Art
Discover the essence of Japan in Glasgow! Join us at The Briggait, Wasps Studios, for an introduction workshop to the beautiful art of Japanese calligraphy. You will discuss and choose a Kanji alphabet which has personal meanings to yourself and make a piece of art with the character drawn with brush and ink. The drawing will be demonstrated by the Master Japanese Calligraphy artist, Tomo, in the class.
The event takes place on Saturday 14th November, 2026, 2:30-4:00 PM, at The Briggait, Wasps studios, Glasgow. (On the ground floor, with an accessible facility.)
Whether you are a beginner or simply fascinated by Japanese culture, this event promises an enriching experience that connects history with artistic expression in a relaxing environment.
All authentic materials are provided, and you will take your completed art with you on that day.
Please come to the entrance of the building , on Bridgegate opposite a big car park, 5 minutes prior to the workshop where I meet you to escort you to the venue.
