About this Event

To find out how we are staying safe from COVID 19 visit our website .

Drawing from observation is central to Rachel's artistic practice and she will introduce you to this way of working. You will be guided through a number of different strategies used by artists for observational drawing. Rachel will support you in creating your own studies of objects in the studio, looking at composition, line, tone, proportion and perspective. You will also take part in playful, experimental exercises which will help you to find out about materials and enjoy drawing as a process in itself. Have fun learning together in a small group and then practice the exercises at home in your own time.

Suitable for all levels including beginners.

Some materials will be provided, please bring the following to the first session:

  • 2b and 6b pencil
  • Sharpener
  • Rubber
  • A roll of masking tape
