About this Event
Feeling disconnected from your body?
Struggling to feel confident, expressive, or at home in your skin?
Curious about what might shift if you learned to move with your body instead of judging it?
This 10-week introductory Burlesque series is an invitation to build embodiment, body confidence, and self-trust in a supportive, consent-centered, trauma-informed space.
Led by Rachel, director of The Feral Showgirls and owner of Live Body Brave, this series uses burlesque as a powerful tool for reconnecting with your body, exploring expression, and practicing being seen—on your own terms. The focus is not on looking a certain way, but on feeling present, grounded, and empowered in your body.
Over ten weeks, students will explore the history of burlesque while learning foundational movement, prop work, character exploration, act creation, costuming, and stage makeup. Emphasis is placed on listening to your body, honoring boundaries, and cultivating confidence through choice, curiosity, and play.
Performance opportunities are optional, with a supportive end-of-session recital for those who wish to participate.
