About this Event
In this class, participants will gain hands-on experience in the metal shop, working with a MIG welder and essential supporting tools such as the drill press, vertical, horizontal, and portable band saws, angle grinders, and more. The course emphasizes important metal shop safety practices, and participants who successfully complete the class will be officially cleared to use the metalworking facilities at PCMS.
This class is designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in the metal shop. Those new to metalworking are strongly encouraged to take this course before enrolling in future welding or machining classes.
The class is expected to last approximately four hours. Attendees are encouraged to plan for up to an additional hour after class to ensure ample hands-on time with the welder.
We advise attendees review this excellent guide ahead of the class: Miller MIG Welding Handbook.
