Overview
Ready to build confidence, think on your feet, and have a lot of fun doing it? Improv 101 is your invitation to explore the fundamentals of improvisation in a supportive, playful environment—no experience needed.
Over 4 weeks, you’ll learn how to create spontaneous scenes, craft memorable characters, and collaborate with others to tell stories in the moment. Whether you're an actor, a creative, or just looking to get more comfortable with the unexpected, this course gives you a solid foundation in the art of improv.

Our TBC Course Structure Explained:
Our courses and classes have 2 defining numbers.
The first number defines the level.100 series - Introductory200 series - Intermediate300 series - Advancedetc.
Then the 01, 02, 03 etc. defines the type of class.101 Intro to Improv (building blocks) |102 Intro to Shortform |103 Intro to Longform
This class series is in our introductory (100) series, and will be taking you through the foundation and building blocks of this level. You can then use these skills to advance in short or longform styles.
About your teacher:
Paul Connolly is an Edinburgh-based award-winning actor, comedian, improviser, teacher, writer and director.
He is best known for his work with TBC Improv and the Scottish Comedy Award Winning Spontaneous Players (Spontaneous Sherlock, Spontaneous Potter).
As well as performing around the UK, Europe and North America, since 2010 Paul has taught and trained extensively in acting, improv, musical improv, sketch and more, studying at among others: Edinburgh College; UCB/Magnet Theater/Terry Knickerbocker Studio (New York); iO/Second City (Chicago); Drama Inc. (Atlanta).
As a teacher, Paul focuses on creating a supportive and safe environment where students are encouraged to really examine their own and others work; to understand how and why things work; and to reach their full potential as performers.

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes as we will stand and be active.
Ages 18+. All are welcome, no previous improv experience required.
