Third Space and the Bennington Library are partnering up to provide space to explore creativity, learn new skills and socialize with other crafters. Join us for a rotating schedule of free skill classes and open craft circles.*Please bring your own sewing machine and know the basics of how to operate it. We will have a couple of machines available to borrow*
INTRO TO GARMENT CONSTRUCTION CLASS
We will learn how to make a circle skirt with elastic waistband that you can take home at the end! Skills we will cover include:
- kinds of fabric (and when to use what)
- how to take your measurements
- cutting, pinning and stitching straight seams
- hems and elastic waistbands
This class typically takes the full three hours, but feel free to bring a craft project from home to work on in the event you complete the group project quickly, but would like to stay for some social crafting time.
The event is for adults. It's free and materials will be provided.
