About this Event
AI feels like magic until you try to use it. This 90-minute hands-on workshop is for regular people, no tech background needed. You bring a laptop and one real thing from your life. You leave having used AI on it, plus a cheat sheet to take home.
What we cover:
- What AI actually is, in plain language (and why it is not magic)
- The three tools: ChatGPT, Claude, and Muse, and what each is best at
- How to talk to AI so you get genuinely useful answers (bad prompt vs good prompt, live)
- AI in real everyday life: emails, meal plans, trip planning, budgeting help, homework help, understanding bills and medical jargon, organizing your life
- A real story: how I use AI every single day in my job search (resumes, interview prep, application tracking)
- Staying safe: what not to paste in, how to spot AI mistakes, free tiers vs paid
- 20 minutes of guided hands-on time: you work on YOUR real task with help
- Take home: prompt cheat sheet plus "10 things to try this week" starter list
Bring: a laptop (or tablet) and one real-life task you'd like help with.
Taught by Anthony James, a senior software engineer who uses AI daily in his own work and life.
