“Blue Notes and Black Ties - An Evening of Elegant Jazz” brings together three gifted artists (and good friends) for an intimate performance that calls back to the supper club days of the past. Expect classic jazz, smoky ballads, and an interplay that only comes from musicians who are friends on and off the stage.Scott Silbert (saxophone, clarinet) has credits that include being the chief arranger for the U.S. Navy Band for 15 years, composing/arranging over 200 pieces for the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, and playing on national and international tours and festivals. Called an “exquisite interpreter of song,” Joe Holt (piano) comes with 50 years in the music business and is known for his improvisational playing and ability to pivot with ease from one musical lane to another. And Beth McDonald is an old-souled singer/songwriter with a particular affinity for jazz standards and anything soulful, swinging, sweet, sad, or sassy. They have performed together in various settings over the last twenty years or so.
