Prepare for the conversation, not just the questions
Interviews can feel unfamiliar, particularly when you are returning to work or bringing experience from another country. You do not need perfect answers. You need to understand what employers are asking and practise explaining what you can offer.
This two-hour masterclass will introduce common UK interview approaches and give you opportunities to practise in a supportive group.
What we will explore
- Interview expectations and common UK formats.
- Introducing yourself and explaining why you are interested in a role.
- Answering competency questions using clear, relevant examples, including STAR.
- Communication, body language and useful questions to ask an employer.
- Practice questions and constructive feedback.
Eligible Steps Towards Work participants can also arrange individual mock interviews linked to a real vacancy when needed.

Getting Here – Travel and Parking
By Bus: Nottingham City Transport services 24, 25, 26 and 27 stop at Handel Street on Carlton Road, just a short walk from the venue.
By Car: On-street parking is available in the surrounding streets near Handel Street. Please check local parking restrictions and allow time to find a suitable space.
The session is intended for adults aged 25+ who live in Nottingham City;
Transform Training will confirm eligibility.
Places are free for eligible participants, subject to availability.
