About this Event
Join us as we honor International Day of Peace, first established by a United Nations resolution in 1981. Together, we will gather at Window on the Bay in Monterey for a "Peace Message" rally. Afterward, head over to the Monterey Peace and Justice Center for a shared potluck and a documentary film - Peace One Day.
The film chronicles the six-year effort by Jeremy Gilley to establish September 21st of each year as a day dedicated to honouring and strengthening the ideals of peace. On this day, the UN calls for a 24‑hour global cease‑fire and urges individuals, communities, and governments to recognize peace as a fundamental human right.
