About this Event

Eleanor Daley is an Assistant Legal Adviser at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. She advises on a variety of public international law and public law issues. The current focus of Eleanor’s work is sanctions, and in particular on their interaction with international trade and investment.

Eleanor studied law at McGill University in Canada and qualified to practice law in New York, Ontario, and ultimately as a Solicitor in England and Wales. Eleanor moved to the UK in 2015 to practice international commercial arbitration at WilmerHale. Eleanor then moved to the Government Legal Department where she spent two years as a lawyer advising the then-Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on international trade agreements. She moved to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in September 2024.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session and an informal drinks reception, offering further opportunity for discussion and networking.
