Drawing on large-scale, longitudinal survey research, conducted in collaboration with the British Association for the Study of Ukraine (BASU), Professor Mikhail Alexseev offers a fine-grained view of the factors shaping Ukrainians’ interpretation of victory and acceptable war termination, while also shedding light on the wartime resilience of Ukrainian democracy.

SPEAKER
Mikhail Alexseev is professor of political science at San Diego State University. His research focuses on threat assessment in interstate and internal wars, ethnic relations, nationalism, and immigration in Russia and Eurasia and is currently concentrated on Ukraine’s democratic resilience in the face of Russia’s ongoing invasion since 2014.
