About this Event
We invite you to share space with us on Thursday, November 12, from 6 PM to 9 PM at The Land School for the third edition of Seeing Sound with International Anthem.
For this next entry, documentarian and frequent IARC collaborator Brian Ashby presents a visual mixtape of rarities, deep cuts, and anomalous moments culled from 17 years of patient observation of Chicago music on stages, studios, and streets. A combination of retrospective and a work-in-progress, expect a spontaneous constellation from Ashby’s archive, plus as-yet-unseen performance and process captured for his ongoing documentary with Damon Locks & Black Monument Ensemble. One night only!
For more than eleven years, International Anthem has worked with directors, animators, filmmakers, and visual artists to bring their unique visions of music as moving pictures to life. The art of the music video makes it possible to feel music in different ways, and through its uniquely immersive impact, allows us to see sound.
Tickets are free with a suggested donation of $15.
