About this Event
Tombolo Books is thrilled to welcome award-winning journalist and author Kate Fagan to the bookstore to celebrate her new novel, Instant Classic, about a young filmmaker who bets her career on making a film about the forgotten story of a women’s basketball pioneer to the silver screen, honoring the women who dared to love, compete, and change the game.
Fagan’s Instant Classic is a radiant love letter to women’s sports and queer identity as well as a gripping “novel about ambition, art, and the fraught work of becoming yourself” (Anna Dorn, author of American Spirits).
We are also happy to offer an exclusive art print with every preorder. Fagan will sign all preorders and personalize them upon request. You can leave your personalization note in the comment section of your book order.
Kate Fagan is an Emmy Award–winning journalist and the author of USA TODAY bestseller The Three Lives of Cate Kay and the #1 New York Times bestseller What Made Maddy Run, which was a semi-finalist for the PEN/ESPN Award for Literary Sports Writing. She is also the author of three nonfiction titles, a former professional basketball player, and spent seven years at ESPN. Kate currently lives in Bolton Landing, New York.
