This December, the PWC joins forces with the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra to perform Vivaldi’s beloved Gloria. Carrying forward this season of celebration of women, by women, we’ll perform pieces by several composers who continue to inspire us. In addition to Vivaldi’s masterwork, the second half of our winter program celebrates the season with sacred and contemporary holiday treasures. Experience the luminous anticipation of Elaine Hagenberg’s O Come Emmanuel, Joan Szymko’s spirited Hodie, and Ann Callaway’s radiant Alleluia, Vidimus Stellam, paired with the otherworldly textures of Cindy Cox’s Wakah-Chan. We uplift traditions of community, reflection, and peace through Bernice Johnson Reagon’s stirring Seven Principles and Karen Siegel’s contemplative Oseh Shalom. The festivities draw to a heartwarming close with the gentle tenderness of Eleanor Daley’s Lullaby Carol and the timeless splendor of John Rutter’s setting of Silent Night. Join us 30 minutes before each performance for a pre-concert talk, and stay for a post-concert reception. Now through October 31st, tickets are "pay-what-you-wish" pricing.
