About this Event
Now entering its sixth year, Inspiring Makers returns on the 19th May 2027, bringing together some of the most compelling voices from across craft, design and making for a day of thought-provoking ideas, conversation and exchange.
Hosted by Artichoke and the Furniture Makers’ Company, this not-for-profit event was created to secure the future of craftsmanship by providing a platform for emerging talent to enter conversation with established makers, designers, founders and industry leaders.
Last year’s event welcomed an exceptional breadth of speakers, from Bill Amberg and Caroline Till of TILT, to furniture artist Fred Baier, Women in Boatbuilding, Slow Ways and Artichoke's own Technical Director and apprentice. Talks explored everything from material innovation, sustainability and original creative thinking to the preservation of heritage skills and the challenge of passing specialist knowledge from one generation to the next. This year, we’re building on that foundation with an even more ambitious programme of speakers, ideas and perspectives.
Inspiring Makers returns for 2027 with a fresh programme and another carefully curated line-up of speakers, to be revealed over the coming months.
Alongside the talks, the day offers a valuable opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with makers, designers, founders and creative minds from across the industry, with time for conversation and connection built into the programme.
