This special event will feature a curated selection of poems by Barnes himself, alongside readings from other poets whose work has been shaped and influenced by his distinctive voice and deep connection to Dorset’s landscape and dialect.Through spoken word and shared appreciation, we will explore how Barnes’ themes of rural life, nature, memory, and local identity continue to resonate with writers today. Whether you are a long-time admirer of his Dorset dialect poetry or discovering his work for the first time, this promises to be a warm and inspiring gathering in a welcoming setting.
All are welcome to attend this celebration of poetry, past and present.
