Join us on Thursday 19 November for the Surgeons’ Hall Library Lecture, presented this year by journalist and broadcaster Martin Geissler.
For centuries, the Library & Archive of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh has been a place for learning, discovery and the exchange of ideas. Today, the Surgeons Hall Library Lecture series continues with this tradition, inviting distinguished speakers to share their expertise, experiences, and perspectives on a diverse range of thought-provoking topics
Martin Geissler has been a journalist for 35 years, covering many of the biggest stories of the 21st century and reporting from around the world.
In this fascinating talk, Martin will take us behind the scenes of the news business, exploring how the industry works, how editorial decisions are made, and the challenges and dilemmas journalists face when reporting from difficult places. He will also look to the future, considering what a rapidly changing media landscape might mean for journalism and the people working within it.
The talk will last approximately 60 minutes.
