About this Event
What could you create with AI in just four hours?
Join Minnesota Tech Network for Innovate with AI, a fast-paced, hands-on workshop designed to help participants explore how artificial intelligence can be used to solve real-world problems.
This isn’t a session where you sit and listen to someone talk about AI.
You’ll learn. You’ll build. And you’ll pitch.
Participants will work in teams to explore a challenge, develop an idea, use AI and creative problem-solving tools to shape a solution, and present that idea at the end of the workshop.
No advanced AI experience is required.
What You’ll Do
LEARN
We’ll start with practical AI fundamentals, including prompt engineering and responsible AI use. You’ll learn how to work more effectively with today’s AI tools while also thinking critically about their limitations, accuracy, privacy, bias, and impact.
BUILD
Next, you’ll move from learning into creating.
Using design thinking, systems thinking, and ideation techniques, teams will identify a real-world challenge and develop a potential AI-powered solution.
The focus isn’t on building technology just because we can.
It’s about asking:
How can we use emerging technology thoughtfully to make something better?
PITCH
Finally, teams will turn their ideas into a short pitch and share their solution.
You’ll explain the problem you’re solving, your idea, who it could help, and the potential impact.
And yes, there are prizes.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three pitches.
Innovation with Responsibility
Learning how to use AI also means learning when, why, and how it should be used.
Throughout the workshop, we’ll encourage participants to consider:
- People and human impact
- Accuracy and accountability
- Privacy and security
- Bias and fairness
- Environmental impact
The goal is not AI for AI’s sake.
The goal is learning how to use emerging technology thoughtfully to make something better.
Who Should Attend?
Innovate with AI is designed to bring together people with different experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives.
The workshop can work especially well for:
Students and young adults, parents and families, educators, entrepreneurs, professionals, community leaders, and anyone who is curious about AI and wants to learn by actually using it.
You do not need to be a programmer or AI expert.
In fact, diverse teams make the experience better. The workshop was designed to support families, classrooms, and intergenerational teams learning and creating together.
