We invite you to the Center for Healthy Masculinity's FIRST fall symposium: Inner Work and Outer Life: Spirituality and Men's Mental Health. This one-day symposium brings together practitioners and experts across multiple disciplines—therapy, psychology, social work, spiritual direction, theology, community activism, and non-profit work—to explore the vital connections between spirituality, faith, and men's mental health.
Our amazing speakers:
– Joe Provisor, MA, LMFT, Circle Ways co-founder
– Rabbi Igael “Iggy” Gurin-Malous, Head Rabbi at Beit T’Shuvah Addiction Treatment Center
– Dr. Christopher Norris, Pepperdine University, Graduate School of Education and Psychology
– Dan Griffin, MA, CEO of Griffin Recovery Enterprises, co-founder & Board Chair The Center for Healthy Masculinity
– Dr. Jordan Smith, President at Casa Tendo, Adjunct Professor UCLA Department of Asian Languages & Cultures, CHM co-founder
– special address from Sasha Wiener, Esq., attorney, wife and mother
We invite all attendees to reflect on how spirituality and spiritual practice inform their professional work and personal lives. The symposium identifies the rich diversity of spiritual and faith traditions that support men's wellbeing, and highlights how leaders across disciplines translate these principles into compassionate, effective practice.
Through keynote presentations, facilitated conversations, and interactive “circle” dialogues, we create space for students, faculty, practitioners, and community leaders to deepen their understanding of how men can build lives grounded in spiritual bedrock and guided by meaningful touchstones of growth.
Our aim is to identify the rich diversity of connections between spirituality and psychology as they appear in practice — whether in social work, therapy, psychology, community activism, volunteer and non-profit work, or religious, interfaith, and ecumenical work. From there, we highlight how leaders in these fields translate principle into practice, inviting students, faculty, and community leaders into a vibrant dialogue about how we help men build lives on solid values, drawing on the many touchstones of spiritual growth.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors this event is FREE to all who register. Parking passes will be available for $5 (normally $20).
