Teacher Becky, a Taiwanese calligrapher, is running Ink & Stillness at Fit Café in Ernest Ullmann Park.You'll learn how a stroke is built. Where the brush makes contact, how the pressure moves through the line, and where it lifts off. It asks for your full attention, one stroke at a time. Along the way you pick up a little of the language and culture behind each character.
Practice paper and a brush are provided for the session. The paper is water reactive, so it looks like ink and dries clean. Calligraphy kits will be on sale on the day.
Come with friends. Coffee and baked goods will be available to order.
