About this Event
Wednesday 15 April, Rich Mix (The Studio), 11am-12pm
This session of networking roundtables is designed to help filmmakers and other film professionals connect with industry experts from partner organisations such as FLAMIN, T A P E Collective, the New Black Film Collective and the British Council.
In this session you will have the opportunity to talk to two of the host organisations for 25 minutes each, alongside the other filmmakers and participants at your roundtable. Tables will be assigned on a first come first serve basis on the day. While we will try to assign you to your first choice organisations, please come prepared to talk to any of the hosts listed below.
The Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network (FLAMIN) was launched in 2005 as a one-stop resource to provide artists working in the moving image with access to funding, guidance and development opportunities.
T A P E Collective is a London-based, female-led grassroots organization founded in 2015 by Angela Moneke and Isra Al Kassi to champion underrepresented films, focusing on identity, heritage, and stories from the diaspora. They work across film curation, exhibition, production, and distribution. They are particularly interested in providing advice for short film makers during this session.
The New Black Film Collective (TNBFC) is a nationwide network of film producers, educators and programmers of Black representation on screen in the UK. TNBFC exists to create and cultivate a vibrant Black ecosystem in the UK screen industries by championing Black-led film production, distribution, exhibition and preserving Black filmmaking and television.
The British Council film team celebrates the innovation, diversity, creativity and excellence of UK screen culture around the world. They offer international opportunities to UK screen professionals, and broker creative relationships between UK screen creatives and their international counterparts.
