About this Event
Niome was born in Hawaii to a Navy veteran, traveled the world with her parents, and started singing in church. She's sung at arenas, festivals, theaters, and the Lake of the Ozarks, and on a cruise ship, and after more than 30 years of singing she founded The Musicology Band.
The band calls itself a party band playing '80s-to-2000s funk, R&B, pop, rock, Motown, and blues, from The Gap Band, Kool & the Gang, the Doobie Brothers, Teena Marie, and the Temptations. Live, it covers "Ain't Nobody," "Jungle Love," and "Play That Funky Music."
Niome also sings lead with Brass Rewind, and the band keeps a monthly Friday late-night series at the Phoenix called Funkdafied.
