Anj Fayemi, Arts Startup Incubator alum and founder of Rivet, and Liza Levy, Salt Lick Incubator President, present new opportunities for indie musicians to make a living from their art. Come hear them talk through the obstacles Indie musicians face to produce and market their work and how each business helps to create more sustainable pathways. Farayi, Salt Lick Incubator grant winner and roots musician, will perform a short set.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Anj Fayemi (MIT ‘20) is the co-founder and CEO of , an AI marketing platform that helps labels, brands management companies, agencies, venues, and creator teams identify and understand their most devoted fans, and increase revenue and engagement with their content and products. Anj is also an MIT and Imperial College trained engineer, as well as an active recording and performing musician, which explains his dedication to empowering and unleashing the world's creativity and delighting fans!
Liza Levy is the President of the , an artist development organization that supports aspiring musicians in the early stages of their creative journeys. She started her career as the tour manager for a children’s recording group before landing at Universal Music Group, where she led commercial partnerships with Spotify. Liza then served as the talent relations liaison for Berklee College of Music, where she focused on creating industry pipelines for developing artists. Her work at the Salt Lick Incubator combines her commercial and marketing knowledge and passion for supporting up & coming talent.
Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist is a rising voice in American roots music. Raised in rural Idaho, she grew up playing fiddle and singing gospel and Western swing before studying jazz at New England Conservatory and Berklee College of Music. After years performing and teaching, Farayi found herself reconnecting with the roots music that first made her fall in love with music. Her 2025 debut EP, Edge of the Earth, launched her solo career, followed by Prayer for the People, a stirring collaboration with Grammy-winning bluegrass band the SteelDrivers that showcases Farayi’s tender vocals, deep spirituality, and steely strength.
The supports creative entrepreneurship at MIT and beyond, helping teams solve problems or find new opportunities for artists, cultural producers, and stakeholders to make and experience art. Participating teams receive expert guidance and resources to bring their creative ventures to life. The program culminates in a live pitch event every spring, where finalists compete for a $15,000 prize to launch their business.
