Indiana Music Economy Sessions: Madison

What would it take for Madison to more intentionally support, connect, and grow its music ecosystem?
As part of a statewide series of Indiana Music Sessions, this public conversation will bring together leaders from music, tourism, economic development, philanthropy, and community development to explore Madison’s existing strengths, current gaps and future opportunities.
The discussion will look beyond live events alone to consider music as part of a broader economic ecosystem — including artists, venues, businesses, education, tourism, talent attraction and quality of place.
Panelists will discuss what is already working in Madison, where greater coordination could make a difference, and what kinds of investment, leadership or infrastructure could help the local music economy grow.
This session follows similar conversations in Fort Wayne, South Bend–Elkhart, and Bloomington, with the larger goal of understanding what different Indiana communities need — and where local efforts might connect to a stronger statewide music economy.
