🪙 HOW THE EVENT WORKS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Inconceivable is a token-exchange event.
Every participant will begin the day with tokens that can be wagered throughout the different events.
Challenge other participants.
Negotiate the stakes.
Agree upon the rules.
Put your tokens on the line.
At the end of the event, prizes will be awarded to participants who accumulate the most tokens in the various event categories, with additional prizes and surprises awarded throughout the day.
The important part:
You choose your own adventure. Before a challenge begins, the competitors decide how many tokens are at stake and what constitutes victory. Depending on the challenge, you might negotiate:
• Valid target zones
• Number of exchanges
• Time limits
• Weapon selection
• Victory conditions
• Number of games or rounds
• Token wager
Once both parties agree:
The terms are set.
There are two broad types of challenges:
⚜️ NON-REFEREED CHALLENGES
Example:
Fighter A challenges Fighter B to Tic-Tac-Toe.
Both participants agree to wager three tokens and play best two-out-of-three.
The games are completed.
The victor collects the agreed-upon tokens.
Simple.
⚔️ REFEREED CHALLENGES
Example:
Fighter A challenges Fighter B to a Rapier bout.
The competitors find a Referee and agree upon the rules, victory conditions, and number of tokens being wagered.
Both fighters give their tokens to the Referee.
The bout takes place.
The Referee awards the spoils to the victor.
As you wish.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⚔️ IÑIGO'S SWORDPLAY
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Weapons Available:
• Longsword
• Rapier
• Small-sword
• Mixed Steel
Bring the protective equipment you would normally use at a standard HEMA tournament.
Because this event operates through gentleman's agreements, competitors will discuss and agree upon valid targets, victory conditions, number of exchanges, and other match terms before fencing begins.
This is your opportunity to experiment.
Fight to three clean exchanges.
Fence until first blood — metaphorically, please.
Restrict targets.
Challenge a specific technique.
Create unusual weapon matchups.
Negotiate your terms. Then... have a great duel.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🧠 VIZZINI'S GAMES OF SKILL
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Not every battle is won with a sword.
Test your cunning with:
🎲 Board Games
🎯 Dexterity Games
🧩 Games of Skill
♟️ Games of Strategy
🤔 And whatever other devious contests appear throughout the day.
Remember:
Never go in against a HEMA practitioner when tokens are on the line.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
💪 FEZZIK'S STRENGTH GAMES
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Some problems require strategy.
Others require being enormous.
Expect a variety of physical challenges throughout the day, potentially including:
• Push-Ups
• Pull-Ups
• Squats
• Running
• Tug-of-War
• Throwing Objects for Distance
• Accuracy Challenges
• Timing Challenges
• Other Feats of Strength
Challenge another participant, agree upon the stakes, and discover who truly deserves to be called Fezzik.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🍲 MIRACLE MAX COOK-OFF
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
He's only mostly dead.
Bring a dish to share and enter it into the Miracle Max Cook-Off!
A voting jar will be placed alongside each entry so participants can cast their votes throughout the day.
🏆 Prizes will be awarded for:
🍖 Best Main Dish
🍰 Best Dessert
Additional food and drinks will also be available during the event.
Whether you bring something elaborate, something strange, or something capable of resurrecting a mostly-dead man...
Bring enough to share.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🎃 NEW THIS YEAR — PUMPKIN CONTEST
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Bring a themed carved or painted pumpkin for display!
Pumpkins will be judged first thing in the morning.
🏆 Bring your finest creation and compete for pumpkin supremacy.
After judging — weather permitting — we plan to begin cutting.
You may sacrifice your masterpiece...
...or bring another pumpkin specifically for cutting practice.
⚔️🎃
Because George would presumably like to keep his yard clean, please limit decorations to carved or painted.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⚔️ Swordsmanship.
💪 Strength.
🧠 Cunning.
🍲 Cooking.
🎃 Pumpkins.
