Getting Started! Why Inclusion Matters & Models for Inclusion. Explore accommodations and strategies for meaningful inclusion.
About this Event

This first session explores why inclusion matters and provides an overview of key federal, state, and DCYF requirements. Participants will learn practical strategies, systems, and routines that support inclusion across an entire program. The session also introduces Universal Design for Learning, curriculum accommodations, environmental checklists, layered supports, and effective daily routines that help prevent incidents, increase staff confidence and preparedness, and create welcoming, inclusive environments for all children and youth.

Part 2 will be on 12/1, same time and same place! The last session: Turning Training Into Lasting Change: Navigating Difficult Situations & Building Meaningful Relationships with Children, Youth and Their Families.

Please note that participants must complete both sessions in order to fulfill DCYF's Inclusion Jumpstart Training universal requirement.
