Join our Incidental Counselling 2-Day Workshop to learn practical strategies for supporting people from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds when counselling is incidental to your role.
Led by specialist facilitators, this practical workshop will build your confidence and skills to:
• Understand the impacts of torture, trauma, and resettlement stressors
• Respond sensitively to trauma-related responses, including distress and anger
• Provide emotional containment and grounding through simple techniques
• Identify duty-of-care issues and know how and when to refer people for further support
• Maintain professional boundaries appropriate for your role.

Ideal for caseworkers, social workers, community workers, educators, settlement and housing support staff, health professionals, peer workers, volunteers, and anyone likely to be confided in by people experiencing distress. No counselling experience required.
Eligible for continuing professional development (CPD) with most professional bodies. Certificate of completion provided.
