Join us for the Inaugural Cody Camacho 5K Ruck March, a community event dedicated to honoring veterans, raising awareness of PTSD, and remembering those who lost their battle to suicide. Taking place Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Prairie Lakes Community Center in Des Plaines, the event begins with a remembrance ceremony at 8:00 AM, followed by the 5K at 9:00 AM.
A ruck march is a walk where participants traditionally carry a weighted backpack, representing the physical and emotional burdens many veterans carry. Rucks are completely optional, everyone is welcome!
Individual registration is $25, or gather a team of six for $125. Proceeds will support the creation of a PTSD Memorial at Lake Park.
