About this Event
(IN PERSON) Built to Respond: Pelvic Health Considerations for Female First Responders
Join us IN PERSON at the Fairfax County Public Safety Headquarters, Room 2107, for this special session! Light refreshments will be served.
This event is hosted by Women's Health of the Fairfax County Public Safety Occupational Health (PSOHC) - but women and men alike are invited to attend!
First responders have unique and demanding job requirements. Heavy lifting, sprinting, prolonged standing, and shift work can all take a toll. What if your body isn’t optimized for these requirements?
The pelvic floor and deep core are essential to support the body and generate power. When dysfunction occurs it can lead to chronic hip and low back pain as well as bowel, bladder, and even sexual dysfunction. Join Dr. Jane Mittiga, pelvic floor physical therapist, for an informative discussion and practical solutions to common dysfunctions and complaints.
