About this Event
🍂 Your words deserve a little time on the calendar.
Whether you have a story begging to be written, a journal you have been meaning to open, characters who will not leave you alone, or a project that simply needs some focused attention, come spend an evening creating alongside other writers.
Our Inkwell Writing Sessions are casual, welcoming gatherings for anyone who writes. There is no required genre, experience level, publishing goal, or even a particular way you need to write.
✍️ You might be working on:
• Fiction or nonfiction
• Fan fiction
• Poetry
• Journaling
• Memoir
• A screenplay or script
• Blog posts
• Social media content
• Character development
• Worldbuilding
• Outlining
• Drafting
• Editing or revising
• Cover concepts or other pieces of your writing project
• Something completely different
If it is part of your creative process, bring it.
And your writing tools are entirely up to you. Bring a laptop or tablet, open your favorite notebook, pull out a legal pad, or show up with a pen and a stack of paper. There is no right way to spend your writing time here.
🌟 What the Evening Looks Like
We start with a little conversation and a casual check in. You can share what you are hoping to work on that evening, set a goal for yourself, or simply settle in and get started.
Then it is time to create.
Everyone works independently on whatever they brought while having the gentle accountability of other writers around the table doing the same thing. There are no critiques, no required sharing, and no pressure to hit a certain word count.
Some nights you may write pages. Other nights you may finally figure out your plot, untangle a character problem, edit something that has been waiting for attention, or simply give yourself two hours to reconnect with your creativity.
Progress looks different for every writer, and that is perfectly welcome here.

🕖 Writing Session: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
You will find us at the community table on the far left side toward the back of the store, between the beer section, the bread, and the bakery.

🍽️ Want to Come Early?
Mandy Jo plans to be there around 6:00 PM, so you are more than welcome to come early!
Grab some dinner, pick up a snack or beverage, pull up abench, and hang out for a bit before we switch into writing mode at 7.
It is a great chance to chat, get to know some of the other writers, talk about what you have been working on, or simply enjoy a meal together before the session begins.
And since we are meeting inside a grocery store, you definitely have options. 😄

Come at 6. Come at 6:30. Come whenever works for you. The actual writing session begins at 7:00 PM, but you are welcome to join us early for the social side of the evening.
Purchasing food or drinks is completely optional. You are just as welcome to come early and chat without buying anything.
🎒 A Few Things You May Want to Bring
• Whatever you are currently working on
• Laptop, tablet, notebook, journal, or your favorite pen and paper
• Headphones if music or background sound helps you focus
• A sweater or hoodie because the AC occasionally has opinions
• Any notes, research, books, or creative tools you need
• Your ideas, even if they are still a little messy
Most importantly, bring yourself.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you come.
