About this Event
A Yoga class for cancer patients and survivors that focuses on stimulating the immune system through movement as well as improving strength and flexibility. In this gentle and restorative class, the individual benefits both physically and emotionally in fighting cancer, reducing anxiety and boosting overall wellbeing. Modifications will be made for physical limitations due to effects of chemotherapy and surgeries. Mats and cushions are provided. Bring a small blanket or beach towel and wear loose clothing.
Recomended donation of $5-$20 (however no donation is required and class is offered at not cost to survivors and thrivers.)
Please get cleared by your medical doctor to perform physical activity prior to attending this class. This class will assist in modifications appropriate for all levels and stages of treatment or recovery.

About the Instructor Patricia Belodoff:
Patricia is an artist, art educator and Yoga teacher residing in the Austin metro area. She delights in sharing the peace and serenity as well as the benefits of Yoga’s mind body connection. Belodoff, originally from New York, trained in the US and Canada and teaches Vinyasa style Yoga. Her Art and Yoga Workshops focus on the stimulation of creativity and individual expression.
Patricia is a cancer survivor. During her experience as a cancer patient, she discovered Yoga helped her recovery, by increasing her strength and mobility while relieving stress. It motivated her to become certified in Oncology Yoga with “Yoga for Cancer“ author and Yoga teacher, Tari Prinster and share the practice with other cancer patients and survivors.

Undersigned acknowledges that the exercise instructors and Moving Beyond Cancer Collaborative (MBCC) have not and will not render any medical services including medical diagnosis of physical condition. I specifically agree that the parties above shall not be liable for any claim, demand, cause of action of any kind resulting from or related to undersigned’s premises, or participation in any activity within or without the premises of the YMCA.
• I understand that even with safety protocols in place there may be a risk of disease transmission, including COVID-19. With the possibility of asymptomatic transmission of COVID-19, every choice in the foreseeable future has a level of risk attached to it. In attending this class I acknowledge that I have read and agree to comply with MBCC's COVID Policies and Procedures. I also acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved and I voluntarily agree to assume those risks. I have read the above release and waiver of liability and fully understand its contents.
