In Memoriam: For our gay martyrs

Between 1800 and 1833 over 40 men were hanged in England for sodomy; the youngest was 16. Two were executed at Horsemonger Road Gaol, while a third slit his throat with a penknife to escape that fate. The last two to be killed for this 'unmentionable crime', James Pratt and John Smith, spent three weeks here in 1835 before being tried at the Old Bailey and swinging at Newgate. We will be telling the story and witnessing for all those victims, laying a wreath and lighting candles, on Sunday 27th September. Bring your own tokens please.
