Award-winning journalist Sarah Stankorb, author of newly published book Damned If She Does & Disobedient Women, asks why American women are leaving the church at higher rates than ever before and where they are landing. Damned If She Does explores trends from the 1980s to today and is an intimate account of women whose stories got missed during the Christian Right’s headline-grabbing rise to power. In conversation with Kelsey Hanson Woodruff, come join us for a book talk on Damned If She Does exploring stories of religious exodus and escape in the Williams Chapel at Harvard Divinity School on October 20th from 4:00-5:00pm. Dr. Woodruff is a postdoctoral fellow at Wesleyan University, teaching American religious history. She holds a Ph.D. in religion from Harvard University and was previously a lecturer at Harvard Divinity School.
