Hi I'm Rebecca! I'm a a really experienced improv teacher from Tamaki Makaurau, and also a big fan of cartoon detective dogs! I'm bringing my award-winning workshop "Improvise More Like Scooby Doo" to Otautahi for the first time in November :) This is a 3 hour improv workshop suitable for improvisors of all levels except absolute beginners. This is not a good starting place for your first improv class.
This workshop will explore what it means to be a 'good' improvisor using Scooby Doo as our role model! We're talking friendship, we're talking support, we're talking big offers.
Expect games, scenes, personal reflection, Scooby Doo close readings, and (Scooby) snacks.
WINNER “Best Workshop” at New Zealand Improv Festival 2025.

About me:
I've been improvising for almost 20 years?! And running improv workshops for almost as long, since I was a 14 year old student leader! My teaching and improv style are joyful, with a focus on fun and inclusivity. This is not a space for intense feedback and scrutiny. That is not my vibe at all :) I run an improvised theatre company up in Tamaki Makaurau called Improverished as well as performing with Bull Rush, Casual First Date, and This Might Get Weird. I also produce Late Night Knife Fight in Tamaki. What can I say fam, I love improv.
