About this Event
Greetings, brave adventurers: your quest (should you choose to accept it), is to unlock the power of improv to level up your RPG game nights. Gain confidence, embrace flexibility, and learn how to build memorable worlds and characters as a game master and player through specialized improv exercises. This four-week class is appropriate for curious first-time GMs and seasoned storytellers alike, and will leave you inspired with an adventurer’s stash of techniques to make your RPG sessions more dynamic and collaborative.
Dates: The class runs Mondays, starting 11/2/2026 and running for 4 classes (skipping 11/16).
Instructor: Adam Stackhouse
Adam Stackhouse is a producer, improviser, and TTRPG game master with a passion for collaborative storytelling, game design, immersive theater, and experimental live comedy. He’s the GM and producer of “Roll 4: The Improvised RPG Comedy Show,” the Coalition Theater’s longest-running show, and has guided adventurous players through over 100 live, improvised RPG stage shows over the past decade. He has served as a featured instructor and performer specializing in the skill sets of improvisation and role playing games at dozens of conventions, schools, libraries, and festivals across the country.
Outside of the Coalition, Adam is a co-owner of AVAdventure Productions, a company specializing in immersive entertainment and live events, including BurgQuest, a festival celebrating all things tabletop and role playing games, and the Last Word Comedy Festival, both in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Across all of his live performance work, Adam is particularly interested in the power of audience agency and the magic that can be found at the intersection of game mechanics, characters, world-building, and randomness, in shows where no one truly knows what’s going to happen next.
