In Improv Level 3 at New Village Arts with Patrick McInnis, students advance their improvisation skills, focusing on creating dynamic, character-rich scenes while further exploring the concept of the “game of the scene.” With a deeper grasp of scene dynamics, participants will strengthen their group collaboration and embrace the spirit of ensemble performance. This course also introduces students to the long-form improv format known as “The Harold.” They will learn its structure, explore various show openings, and practice generating scene ideas from these openings to shape a complete performance. By the end of the course, students will confidently create openings, develop scene concepts, and apply lessons from Level 1 and Level 2 to build scenes, identify the game, and play it effectively within The Harold framework.
